I am an American, born on April 1, 1974 to a very unique family which continues its strange uniqueness today. I have one little sister, whom I mostly love but sometimes can't stand. The feeling, I believe, is mutual.

Currently, we are all estranged.

From: All Over, USA. Most of my time was spent in Dallas, Texas, however I have also enjoyed brief sojourns in Alabama, Washington, Iowa, Kansas, Colorado, North Carolina and Arkansas.

I say enjoyed sarcatically.

I then moved to Stockholm, Sweden, where I worked for an evil telecommunications company that I call Company X for nearly 5 years, before being laid off in a vicious round of redundancies.

I currently live and work in London, England for a company I call Dream Job, which is a telecom giant. This does not mean that I am one of those people that ring you up at dinner time and try to sell you something. I am a product manager for the whirring boxes that make it possible for said salesmen to ring you up on the phone.

Romantic history: The words "turbulent" and "fucked-up" suffice here. More on that in the blog. I have two ex-husbands, the most current of which is a Swedish man I call X Partner Unit on my blog. I am now with a man I call Mr. Y, a grand sweeping passion of a relationship. Mr. Y is 12 years older, divorced from his Swedish ex, and with 2 kids, Melissa and Jeff.

Some more info:

1) The words "Honey, can we get another kitten?" have never been uttered to me by a partner.

2) Bill Bryson, David Sedaris, "Will and Grace", and an English show called "The Kumars at Number 52" make me laugh. As do animals dressed in clothing.

3) People who drive slowly, surprises, and having a fat day piss me off.

4) I am obsessed with fruit bats.

5) The top 4 masturbation material men in my life are: John Cusack, Colin Firth, Matthew McConaughey, and Tony Blair (but he is only for the points).

6) Tall men with brown hair and blue or hazel eyes do it for me. Add a Scottish or Irish accent, and I am wet indeed.

7) I have a thing for Englishmen. I am attending Englishmen Anonymous to try to get over it.

8) I have a BA in anthropology and French and half a Master's in the history of ideas, which makes me weirdly unsuitable for my position as I work in telecom.

9) I speak English and Swedish. I used to speak Russian and French too, but...come on, people...there is only so much room in this brain of mine.

10) My favorite foods are artichokes, vegetarian Indian curry, homemade macaroni and cheese, and sour wine gums (they count as food to me).

11) If I don't get an orgasm every other day I get grouchy.

12) This blog is the only place where I talk about my problems. Everyone else remains in the dark.

13) I studied Russian to impress a guy. It worked.

14) I have two tattoos and a navel ring. No motorcycle...as of yet!

15) I am happiest when I am snorkelling in warm water.

16) Helen is not my real name. Neither is Adelaide.

17) I am obsessed with watching weather. Whenever the weather comes on during the news, all talking must cease in the house. I have been known to compulsively watch the Weather Channel all day. Which is why I am glad we don't get that channel anymore.

18) The Dallas Stars are the best hockey team in the world. And I am sure they want to have sex with me.

19) There is a clock in every room of my house.

20) If I ever stop travelling, I think I will die.

21) I have been wildly, madly, thrillingly in love twice. With everyone else I faked it.

22) My favorite quote is by Anoton Chekhov - "Any idiot can face a crisis-it's this day-to-day living that wears you out."

23) From the time I was 18 to the time I was 27 my hair was Julia Roberts red. I have gone back to my natural near-black color.

24) If I have to be at a certain place at a certain time, I get stressed out.

25) I think my heart is broken.

26) My Magic Eight Ball helps me make decisions when my brain goes on the fritz.

27) I think Destiny's Child should JUST...STOP...SINGING. I will leave stores if I hear their music playing.

28) I am physically dependent on my mobile phone. Especially text messages.

29) I am fiercely competitive.

30) When I lose my temper, I lost it big time. And it takes me a while to climb down. But once I am down, I don't see the point in holding a grudge about it. Life is too short, my emotional resources too few.

31) In January 2003, I tried to kill myself.

32) I make it a personal rule that I must travel to at least 2 new countries every year.

33) I miss having my cats and dog more than I can ever admit.

34) I have been raped.

35) I often think that my mouth is not connected to my brain.

36) Nothing beats snuggling in bed on a cold rainy morning, naked against the warm flesh of someone you are mad about.

37) Unless you are lying outside in the warm grass in the sun, naked against the warm flesh of someone you are mad about.

More later...

I am a newcomer to your blog and I am just coming down from a 48 hour binge of going
through your archives. And even though I have not gotten further than jan 04 I wanted to
send you this little note of appreciation. I really like what you have done on your site,
what I have read so far I have found to be both entertaining and touching on a level too
rarely seen on the net.

So thank you, you made my weekend.

Now for some sleep...
